Delete your account and your data
Last updated 9 September 2026
Milan needs no account. If you have never signed in, there is no account to delete and nothing of yours is on any server — everything you planned is in the app's own private storage on your phone, and uninstalling the app takes it with it.
This page is for the other case: you signed in with Google and turned on cloud backup, and you want the account and the copy of your wedding that goes with it removed. There is no delete control inside the app yet. Rather than describe a button that does not exist, this is the route that works today, and it is one email.
What gets deleted
The account record itself, held by the sign-in service that created it when you tapped Google sign-in. That record is what Google wrote: the account identifier the app uses, and the email address, name and profile picture Google put on it. All of it goes.
The cloud copy of your planning data, held in the cloud database under that identifier. That covers your boards and the options on them, your guest list including any address, phone number or email address you typed into a guest yourself, your budget lines, your bookings and your payment records.
Nothing is kept back as a backup of our own afterwards, and there is no archived copy to restore from. Deletion is not reversible, so ask when you mean it.
What deletion does not touch
Your phone. The app's local database is the only thing it reads from, and deleting the cloud copy does not reach into it — your wedding keeps opening, offline, signed out. To remove the local copy as well, uninstall the app: Android and iOS delete an app's private storage along with the app.
Your photos. They were never uploaded. Photos attached to an option are files in the app's private storage and they are not part of cloud backup at all, so there is nothing of them on our side to delete.
Your contacts. The guest-list import reads a contact's name and the identifier your phone files it under, and it uploads nothing. Guests you kept are your own data and they go with the rest of it.
How long it takes
A request is acted on within 30 days of it arriving, and in practice within a couple of days: two people read the inbox and the deletion is done by hand.
You get a reply when it is done. If you asked from a different address than the one you signed in with, the reply goes to the address you wrote from.
Afterwards
The app signs you out and keeps working. Every feature works signed out — that is the state Milan is built for — so nothing in your planning stops because the account is gone.
Signing in again later creates a fresh account record, with no connection to the deleted one and none of the old data in it.
Ask for deletion
The link below opens your own mail app with the message already written. It asks for one thing: the Google address you signed in with, which is what identifies the account. Send it from whichever address you like.
Nothing on this page is sent anywhere by the page. There is no form here and it posts to no server — the message is assembled in your browser and only your mail app ever sees it. If your device has no mail app set up, write to the address below by hand and say the same thing.
